MOA

MOA is one of my most recent works and it was one of the most magical experiences I’ve had yet as a choreographer. I was asked to create a short work for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Professional school year end show, and I was immediately excited by the prospect of working and creating with the amazing young artists.

I had found some beautiful music by the talented American group Rachel’s quite some time ago, and was saving it for a special piece and time. I decided this was that moment, and MOA was born. The piece is based on the art and life of artist Egon Schiele, as was the music Rachel’s composed. The group of dancers I had dived right into the work with me and that process was a journey I will always remember.
