Deverell

Deverell was created in 2005 for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s summer performances in Assiniboine Park. Deverell means “on the riverbank” in Gaelic and is a tribute to my Celtic roots and family. I thought it would be the perfect piece to celebrate dance outdoors, close to the bank of the Assiniboine river. In 2024, I restaged the ballet in Orlando and added a fourth movement as well as an encore. Almost twenty years later, Deverell proved it is still a favorite among audience members and the dancers.
